Insurance for fraudulent use covers counterfeiting, manipulation and undue use of the card by unauthorized persons during the 36 hours prior to the moment when the card is cancelled.

The insurance pays compensation of between 1,500 euros and 12,000 euros depending on the kind of card contracted.

  • Counterfeiting of the insured card.
  • Counterfeiting of invoices/bills paid with the insured card.
  • Fraudulent use of the insured card’s number.
  • Illegal use of an insured card sent by mail by the bank and which the titleholder has not received.
  • Falsification of signature.
  • Fraudulent use of an insured card as a consequence of robbery, pickpocketing or loss. Coverage for incidents arising from robbery or loss that may have occurred 36 hours before cancelling the card. Compensation:

                  - Clau Maestro / Visa Electron: a maximum of 1,500 euros per incident. 

                  - Clau Visa Clàssic / Clau Visa Unicef: a maximum of 3,000 euros per incident. 

                  - Clau Mastercard / ACA Master: a maximum of 3,000 euros per incident. 

                  - Visa Premier: a maximum of 6,000 euros per incident.

                  - Visa Platinum: a maximum of 12,000 euros per incident.

  • In order to make a claim and be entitled to the cover offered by this policy, you need to inform Crèdit Andorrà of the loss, theft or fraud as soon as possible, and in any case within a maximum of 15 calendar days as of when the loss or theft of the plastic card occurred. The claim necessary to receive the compensation must be made within 60 calendar days as of the date of the incident.
  • It is necessary to submit the corresponding report made to the corresponding authorities (e.g. police).
  • It is necessary to submit all the evidence and details requested by the insurer as regards this incident.
