We answer your questions

As this service is provided by telecommunications operators, Creand Crèdit Andorrà cannot guarantee in all cases that the SMS will be received on the user’s terminal.

We also recommend that you check the settings on your mobile phone to ensure that you can receive SMS messages when roaming outside Andorra.

The main difference between a debit card and a credit card is the method of payment.

With a debit card, the payment is debited directly from the cardholder’s current account and, therefore, purchases are charged against the balance you have in your account. On the other hand, a credit card lets you buy and pay later, since the amount is charged to your account at the beginning of the following month.

For security reasons, you will need to cancel the card as soon as possible. You can do this by accessing your online banking in the “Card operations / Cancel card” section, or by calling Customer Service on (+376) 88 88 88. If your card is stolen, we advise you to report it to the police.

If you withdraw cash on debit from Creand’s ATMs or any other cash point in Andorra, you will pay zero commissions. On the other hand, if you withdraw money on credit, you will pay the commission corresponding to the drawdown of the credit on the card.

I want to receive card purchase alerts. How can I activate them? To stay informed about all the purchases made with your cards, you can activate the purchase alerts through the online banking option “Card operations / Alerts”. You will receive an SMS alert for purchases made with your card that exceed €60.

When shopping online, it is important to CHECK that you are dealing with a secure website. To do this, look at the web address, which should begin with https:// . However, some browsers display a closed padlock icon to indicate that you are browsing securely.

There are also two types of retailers:

  • Those affiliated with payment systems: Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode. In these cases, once you have entered the usual details (card number, expiry date and CVV or CVC security code), you will receive an SMS on your mobile phone with a 6-digit code that you will need to enter on the website to authorise the purchase.
  • Other retailers: when making the purchase you just need to enter the usual details (card number, expiry date and CVV or CVC security code). On Visa or MasterCard cards, the CVV or CVC is the last three digits on the back of the card, inside the signature strip.

Your card’s PIN is personal and non-transferable and, for your security, it should never be disclosed to anyone under any circumstances. This includes making purchases over the phone, online and even at Creand, since your bank will never ask for your card’s PIN.
